Till death do us part…

Posted by TheCanvasGrey on January 20, 2008

In loving memory of Luther, a loving husband, son, brother, stepfather, uncle, friend and my BIL who lost his battle with cancer last week and went to be with God.

Till death do us part,

I promised my sweetheart.

I did it with love,

And help from above.

I kept you all in my heart,

Until God said we must part.

Think of me and my touch,

But don’t grieve too much.

I may not know when,

I will see you again.

But this is for sure,

My love for you all will endure.

Luther was truly one of the kindest men I’ve ever known.  He was a simple, loving, devoted man who was very busy, always doing something.  To know him was to love him.  He was very creative and thoughtful.  One of my personal favorites was his creation from the bottom of a plastic Diet Pepsi bottle.  He cut the bottoms off, painted them to look like flowers (see if you can envision the flower petals from the bottom) and then cut wire hangers and poked a hole through the middle of the bottom of the Pepsi bottle, bent the wire and voila!  A flower windmill to place in the garden.  I should have gotten pictures while we were there.  I will do that and add them here in the future.

  1. You’ve written a beautiful tribute for him, CG.

  2. Thanks FW! He certainly deserved it!
