Should US save US?

Posted by TheCanvasGrey on April 15, 2008

Should we?  Could we?  Will we?

Recently I watched 9/11 Conspiracies:  Fact or Fiction? on the History Channel).   I was amazed how much I swayed during the broadcast.  Every time a conspiracy theory (mostly from Loose Change) was stated I thought, “Wow, that could make sense.”  Then the debunk and facts of what happened were stated (mostly from Popular Mechanics magazine, experts or investigators) and I was swayed back to the truth.  The difference between conspiracy and gossip is zero (like my Bush/Clinton posts, dreamed up, could be true but not a shred of truth to back up the theory).

I often wonder if Bin Laden will be lauded by his people in the future NOT because he attacked us because we are “evil” but because he attacked us knowing that we would run to save them from themselves and bring economic stability, a better lifestyle and education.  History seems to prove we do this quite often and very well.

Imagine if the US hadn’t spent the money or time to do this in the past.   The cost and lives lost in the US for wars and clean up after are huge.  Is it worth it?  Does anyone appreciate how different the world would be if the US had been complacent, indifferent, uninvolved?  Are we really making the world better by doing what we do?  I pray and believe that we are for those that have given their best to serve and protect us, to liberate and defend us and OTHERS who are defenseless.

9/11 Conspiracies:  Fact or Fiction? also reminded me that the government is made up of US.  That the people who investigate these things are made up of US.  That lots of people from lots of different places, government positions, inside and outside agencies are part of our government AND are US.  Most people are educated, honest and couldn’t possibly hold down too many discrepancies or tie together too many untruths to hide from US.

I’m done now.  😉

  1. Wow… I’m not sure how to react. I know that both my Grandfathers went to war in WWII. If I play the “what if game” I’m not sure how life would be different. Maybe I wouldn’t even be here. Who knows.

I bet if we didn’t go to war, then the world would probably be a very diffeent place. Maybe for the better, but more than liekly possibly for the worse.

    Most excellant post, Debi.

  2. Thanks R, you make me think about my thinking!

CG, it is easy to be swayed.. I have found myself in the same positions as you when watching a documentary.. We must pray for discernment and really check it out from every angle and then we still can get it wrong.

You would think that we would be loved or at least respected by them for our help..ya know I think many of them do but are under the yoke of PC. and of course, our media wants us to believe we are evil and that the world hates us. Many of them do, we are a unique Republic with a radical constitution and bill of rights. The elites of the world would bring us down as they sure don’t want their country infected with such an attitude.

Until journalists start reporting without their obvious slant on the news and bias and the station owners have no agenda except the facts maam..we will have their views as stats show we are easily swayed and too many times uninformed.Until we stand for something, we will fall for anything..can’t remember where I heard that but it stuck..

    Lots of hugs to ya!
