I’m of a mind that nothing stands between me and what I want except for the fear it may not work or change things so drastically that I’ll be “sorry”…so I decided to change my perception. I realized that the experience of trying and dealing with anything that could happen sure beats the feeling of never going for it and wishing that I did. So now when I feel less than worthy, feel nervous, feel unsure, I transmute that energy and thinking to…What can I do to make this an opportunity for something I REALLY want! This has gotten me through many things that I (and others) have perceived as devastating or situations that were hurtful at the time. Another thing, for me that is important, is to give myself time to process these devastating, hurtful, unexpected changes (which come to everyone). I changed myself and perceive the best outcome for everyone (myself included), this has never let me down.
Hope that makes sense and that in some way it can help you too!

Competition is competing against oneself whether the ego will let self see it or not…therefore, bad sportsmanship exemplifies the ego against itself and all its faults…good sportsmanship accepts that for today the best was the best….center reflects enjoyment/thankfulness of the competition for all that it is.

Oh Tae…here is a thought:
The “ME” generation turned their kids into the “WE” socialist generation so the “ME” generation could do anything they wanted to do and then the “ME” generation would be taken care of by the “We” generation.

Thanks to my friend Deb who emailed me this recycling email. This is funny, I don’t care who you are!
Due to the climate of political correctness now pervading America…. Kentuckians, Tennesseans and West Virginians will no longer be referred to as “HILLBILLIES” you must now refer to them as “APPALACHIAN-AMERICANS.”
She is not a “BABE” or a “CHICK” – She is a “BREASTED AMERICAN.”
She is not “EASY” – She is “HORIZONTALLY ACCESSIBLE.”
She is not a “DUMB BLONDE” – She is a “LIGHT-HAIRED DETOUR OFF THE INFORMATION SUPERHIGHWAY.”
She has not “BEEN AROUND” – She is a “PREVIOUSLY-ENJOYED COMPANION.”
She does not “NAG” – She becomes “VERBALLY REPETITIVE.”
She is not a “TWO-BIT HOOKER” – She is a “LOW COST PROVIDER.”
He does not have a “BEER GUT” – He has developed a “LIQUID GRAIN STORAGE FACILITY.”
He is not a “BAD DANCER” – He is “OVERLY CAUCASIAN.”
He does not “GET LOST ALL THE TIME” – He “INVESTIGATES ALTERNATIVE DESTINATIONS.”
He is not “BALDING” – He is in “FOLLICLE REGRESSION.”
He does not act like a “TOTAL ASS” – He develops a case of RECTAL-CRANIAL INVERSION.”
It’s not his “CRACK” you see hanging out of his pants – It’s “REAR CLEAVAGE.”
More funnies that Accountable posted on her site (I love the 80’s).

Here is a link to the top 100 April Fool’s jokes (per this site).
My favorite is #10:
#10: Planetary Alignment Decreases Gravity
In 1976 the British astronomer Patrick Moore announced on BBC Radio 2 that at 9:47 AM a once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event was going to occur that listeners could experience in their very own homes. The planet Pluto would pass behind Jupiter, temporarily causing a gravitational alignment that would counteract and lessen the Earth’s own gravity. Moore told his listeners that if they jumped in the air at the exact moment that this planetary alignment occurred, they would experience a strange floating sensation. When 9:47 AM arrived, BBC2 began to receive hundreds of phone calls from listeners claiming to have felt the sensation. One woman even reported that she and her eleven friends had risen from their chairs and floated around the room.

well, pat myself on the back…well, let someone else pat me on the back and then pass it on cause if feels so darn good that everyone should do it.
But first a pause for the cause….this important break for the brainiac in me… some appreciation and thought.
There are so many bloggers that make me think,
make me stretch,
make me realize that we all have similar thoughts,
that we are all human.
That maybe the most wonderful part of humanity is reaching out to each other. That on a broader scale we are more alike than different. We are diverse but the same.
We are born, we live and we die.
A complete circle.
Circles seem to be significant. God scattered lots of circles around.
What significance must circles be?
Okay, too deep for today….so on with the award!
I was bestowed by Maddy, whom I hold in high regard for more than a couple of reasons (she’s my Wonder Woman link), the ROYAL BANANA award, I slip you not!!!!
She thinks my blog is yummy!!!! The feeling is mutual!
I’m going to pass this on to my entire blog roll (see right column under Brain Waves) of blogging buddies that have yummy blogs to me. Please add these as you can if you want to your blogs!
Have a wonderful day (24 hour cycle, you know that circle thing). Ta Ta!

In 2006 we’d removed a VERY old tree in the back yard. We wondered and wondered how we would remove the stump. We just left it there eventually putting some potted plants on it. Within a year it started to decay and last Fall my husband removed it completely with VERY little effort.
So when an email came to me recently (thanks Shawna) it had something about “plowing around the stump” and it really settled in with me. I’ve always been the jump in and get it done now person. Work before play, work hard then play hard kinda person. Ya know the person that can’t rest until the stump is out, roots and all.
So I’m trying to adapt this “plow around the stump” into my life a bit more.
For example, I’m getting tired of going to the Y constantly to just maintain (losing is a lost cause…for now) my weight. Especially through the cold and muck of winter (not to mention the flu going around). So as I’m learning to “plow around the stump” I abandoned our 1980 circa Super Nintendo, pushed my cheap, frugal self to the side and got a Wii to get us off our duffs while enjoying ourselves as a family. I also got the exercise trampoline…FUN!
My kids are finicky eaters so I’m constantly trying to find ways to get them to eat more variety. I’d be much happier if they would eat vegies raw or steamed but now that I’m to the point of disguising them by any means necessary. It doesn’t always work but when it does I’m dancing on the clouds that I found another healthy dish they will eat. Sometimes that means it comes from a frozen bag or from a can. Cooking two times a day, seven days a week is a stump I’m more than glad to abandon and plow around!
Inside verse outside play is a stump that is difficult for me to leave alone. Big Boy has so much anxiety about bugs that the only place he will play is open spaces with few flying insects. Young Son is all about adventure and the outdoors. This limits us to the yard since one is in and the other out unless I take them to the park (which I do). I feel guilty about the days of my childhood when we roamed the wilds. I’m sure that Mom got so many things done while we learned about freedom (to be more than a few feet from an adult), limitations (not to go too far away) and responsibility (come back at predetermined time, watch out for each other). But in my world, this isn’t possible. So I have to compromise, as tough as that is and think of other ways to do these things.
Finally the stump that has been the most difficult for me. Connecting with others. I’m naturally a very outgoing, giving person. I’ve connected with a few people since moving here eight plus years ago but to be honest, nothing lasting, nothing deep. All my close friends are physically far away. We only get to visit periodically. I’ve been praying for a direction, to imagine how I can remove this stump. This last weekend God revealed to me the reason why… WHY…which isn’t mine to know or question but He let me in on it all the same! How blessed am I that I now understand why I’ve been in a type of solitary confinement (girlfriend wise). I’ve been patient and He is showing me. I’m so thankful. So glad I’ve been patient (NOT EASY).
So now I’m happily plowing around this stump knowing that it isn’t moving…but I AM!

Get everyone up off their bum and get one of these!
We happened to be at Wally World last week in the electronics department when the first shipment of Wiis in three weeks came in (talk about LUCK) and got the last one, they were gone in less than an hour. We got it for the rock bottom price of $249.99 (yes people are paying much more at eBay and Amazon.com). Even my frugal, cheap fanny couldn’t pass that up. We’ve been playing on my Super Nintendo from the 1980s. YES, kids, that’s how cheap I am. But I’m a Nintendo kid born and raised and Mario is my fav (okay I love Link too).
Long story short, if you have young ones who love gaming like we do, don’t hesitate and get one. I don’t know all the particulars but it hooks to your computer and you can download the old stuff. Plus you can play other people via the net. This is something I’ll have to figure out after I’m a pro or ace on everything. ;-0 The most important thing it does is get you off your bottom and into the game.
Wii comes with Sports which is fun! Of course I had to get Super Mario Galaxy as well. After huffing and puffing around on the Sports we sit and play Mario then back to huffing and puffing. The thing I love about Sports is you can play as actively or as passively as you would like (or can). So perfect for people who have young kids but aren’t so young anymore! AND I’ve discovered an old love again TENNIS!!!! I could play it all day long tho I don’t because of my kids, “MOM, I thought we were supposed to SHARE!”
Check out Hawty McBloggy, my Game Girl Rocks. Her blog has got tons of stuff about all types of gaming and also about Wii. Plus you can check out her contests too. She had a caption contest recently that made me bust a gut. Yes, I participated and got mentioned too…which is really cool! She has some very, very, very funny stuff on there so check it out when you think you’d like to move up or over to something different in your gaming sphere.
At any rate, this is part of my “plow around the stump” thinking for the new year. I’m not joining them because I can’t beat ’em. I’m moving around them to something that everyone can live with. So our love of computers and gaming transfers well to the Wii Sports. Now I feel like they are getting some activity during the winter months.
I play it HARD and just can’t beat Hungry Hubby who just bats at it hard and wins. I’m all over the floor but I win the exercise/hard working award! I’ve noticed we’ve had more energy this week. Our steps are lighter and our wind is longer…just image the tip top athletic condition we will all be in by Spring! ***wink, wink, nudge, nudge***
I’m not done with this ANY time soon! 😉

Original post: Cahoots or Conspiracy?
Follow up post: Cahoots or Conspiracy Part Deux
The saga continues:
Oh so much to catch up on, Obama gets support of the entire Kennedy clan, liberal left endorses Obama. Hillary can’t control Bill?!? People are dropping out of the race like flies BEFORE “Super Tuesday” and can we just cut to the chase please.
The Dems have made history already and America is still itching to make some more history. The best the Repubs can offer will be two “old school” men (sorry to disappoint but I don’t think Paul and Huck can hang much longer) so that leaves them out of history making possibilities.
So it boils down to the Dems. Since their policies are already left wing all the other factors would come into play; personality, likability, the favored, the beloved, strong, either a black man or a white woman.
Although Obama is handsome and charismatic it would be a miracle to overcome this former president’s spouse. After all Bill is equally charismatic and handsome to some (obviously not me). 😉 And as painful as it is to write this, there is still too much bigotry in this world/America (from all sides) to hope against hope that a black person could hold this office…just yet…I do believe (KNOW) it will be in my lifetime. Plus his name is Obama…dag nab the fates!
So the only conclusion THIS grey canvas can come to is that Hillary is our first woman President who is also married to a former President.
Obama will continue to be popular…maybe Vice Pres. or the first black Pres. but definitely not against THE CLINTONS, not in 2008. Make no mistake, Hillary and Bill are running together (no matter what they say in public). There is an historic legacy to obtain, and they will by God. The Kennedys were a diversion.
Do you feel like a pawn? It’s okay, we will soon take up our knight and bishop status it just won’t be for another 8 to 12 years but we (the people) will get the power back!
I’m done now. 😉

Another loss to cancer, a lovely lady who I’ve always admired.
She was a beautiful woman inside and out. It would be hard to forget so many good times! I will enjoy her infectious laugh and vitality of life in my memories always. I still cherish the memory box made by Judy and hubby for my graduation (it is on my dresser, it has been ever since). I’ve enjoyed the company and friendship of their two lovely daughters.
One of my favorite memories of Judy:
Just after dinner most every night Judy and Mom would set the mood. Cup of coffee, cigs (they smoked back then), pitch black basement with only the black and white glow of an old TV set. Suddenly a snowy screen with rows of obscure aliens marched down, down, down. Dit, dit, dit, dit; dit, dit, dit, dit. Judy and Mom would become hypnotised. Complete and full concentration would fill their brows. The old joysticks with the caps coming off and uncertain response would fly into action. Feet would fly, lips would pucker, beads of sweat would grow….down, down, down, faster, faster; dit, dit, dit, dit…the aliens would come. Groans would turn into screams of terror as their tushies danced all over their chair to prevent the inevitable from happening! Watch out for the flying joysticks, watch out for the wildly swinging cords! Oh, oh……ohhhhhh shoot!!!! The aliens got to the bottom of the screen! “Let’s get ’em, Mer!” she’d growl through clinched teeth and off they’d go on round two, three, four, late into the night.
Judy had one of the most infectious laughs I’ve ever encountered in my life. I wish I could emulate it! We would watch them play for hours and hoot and holler with laughter. Little did I know that this would fuel my enjoyment and passion for a lifetime of gaming.
Good memories, good times, GREAT WOMAN!

In my quest to discover more about how our brain works, what makes us…us. I found this cute little quiz and took it. I was exceedingly happy that they think I have an idealistic mind…now did they mean I’m idealistic or that to have my brain is idealistic? ***snicker***
At any rate they’ve also given my brain a color, which happens to be one of my favorites but I was hoping that it looked more like this:
Here are my results and the link to get yours (it takes all of 2 minutes).
***Your Brain is Purple***
Of all the brain types, yours is the most idealistic.
You tend to think wild, amazing thoughts. Your dreams and fantasies are intense.
Your thoughts are creative, inventive, and without boundaries. You tend to spend a lot of time thinking of fictional people and places – or a very different life for yourself.
What Color Is Your Brain?

Here is the place to get MOST of the toys recalled for lead and other reasons:
However, yesterday I just happened to hear that asbestos (WHAT?) has been found in some regular everyday consumer products including DUCT TAPE and TOYS (for heaven’s sake)! We have the Art Skills’ Clay Bucket and it has been wrapped up and put away but the damage may already have been done. Asbestos related illness doesn’t generally show up until 20 to 30 years later. I’m flippin’ MAD!
These are the articles about the asbestos products:

Ok, maybe I’m out of the loop, just didn’t look down enough Google pages or Ask.com the right questions
It is completely obvious to me that the legacy to end all legacies is taking shape and no one is writing about it.
Let me walk through my thinking here to see if I need to be lauded for genius, reconnect the dots or placed into a mental institution.
Do we have some political families playing duck, duck, goose with power?
While the rest of us are running around trying to prove who is politically correct…right or left or left of right or right of left over easy…some very smart, very rich, very powerful, very political families are planning their legacies.
Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton
Yes, I know people are writing about this…but why is everyone leaving it there?
George Herbert Walker Bush
William Jefferson Clinton
George Walker Bush
John Ellis “Jeb” Bush
Chelsea Victoria Clinton
Okay, throwing Chelsea in there was a bit much. But is it far-fetched, let’s do a quick review of what has already happened:
2000 election the Supreme Court okays W. as the next president with FL (Jeb territory) in question. HMMM?
2003 pre-election year Hillary Clinton decides not to run. WHAT? We all know/knew she wanted to be president when Bill was in the White House. We know she has the brass to challenge any opponent. HMMM?
2004 election a thin win for W. and didn’t he have all the confidence in the world…even in 2000…what did HE know? HMMM?
2005 Former rivals and now formal presidents get together to form the http://www.bushclintonkatrinafund.org/. HMMM?
2005 hurricane season Jeb Bush is beloved and held up to all as a great leader but declines to run for president in 2008. HMMM?
2007 pre-election year Al Gore gets the Nobel Peace Prize actually sharing it with the very people who’ve been doing all the work. Come on…that was a “give me or I’m telling” consolation prize! Why isn’t he running in 2008? HMMM?
So while political pun dents, spinners, media, et. al. fling us from right wing to left wing; our bird of prey is so busy trying to remain aloft that her eyes can’t focus with the precision they once did.
WHAMMY between the eyes; fast forward:
2008 election Hillary Clinton is the first woman president that is married to a former president.
2016 election Jeb Bush is the first president to have had a father and brother who have both been presidents.
2024 election Chelsea Victoria Clinton is the first daughter of the first family of presidents.
So no matter which family you happen to belong to those are some nice legacies to leave in the annals of history.
Politics DO make STRANGE bedfellows!
I’m Stuck In The Middle With You!
Update November 26, 2007
***Oprah will campaign for Obama***
Update December 2, 2007
***Rove leaves the kiss of death for Obama making the way easier for Hillary to soar! Do you really think he is trying to HELP Obama? Funny that Rove writes this shortly after Oprah’s announcement.***

Are we saying the same word? Are we talking about the same thing? Are we talking about semantics? Are we splitting hairs? Are we beating a dead horse?
These days it seems that everything is being polarized to add to the drama of life. The only issues that are discussed are those that spark emotion, invoke yelling and only ONE person can be RIGHT (or at least those fueling the fire insist this MUST be so).
As if wars, famine, hurricanes, earthquakes, plane crashes, fires, disease and other disasters weren’t enough drama; as if a real life little girl or boy living in fear isn’t enough drama; as if caring for a parent who’s health is failing or the death of a loved one isn’t enough drama.
We need even more so we have pretend drama to turn to: as if daytime soap operas, night time crime dramas and the ever popular reality series isn’t enough drama; as if theater, stage and playhouses didn’t invent enough drama.
That folks…is a lot of drama in life! And yet some people must have more; someone somewhere must know about the intimate details and “drama” in the lives of the actors/actresses (who make pretend drama) AND in those that report the REAL drama because apparently there just isn’t enough drama to go around these days.
Stop and think about it, most of television is now about drama. Whether it is the real news about some type of real drama OR a drama show about a pretend drama OR a pretend drama about a real drama (reality shows, oh come on, we all know they are complete drama kings and queens).
Okay, my questions about this are:
Does it seem to you that words like debate, democracy, doing what is best for the majority, helping one another are out of fashion?
Does it seem that agreeing to disagree in polite company is putting people to sleep because they are bored?
Are we serving purposes by adding to division when we fuel the fire by buying, watching, selling, listening, partaking in the malady that is fed to us by all comers?
Are we creating a world that wants to be entertained?
What does it say about our culture, our future and our children’s future?
Has the media successfully created a society that is driven by greed for more commercial products, voyeurism, and drama?
Am I beating a dead horse?
Let’s see what happens next….TO-MA-TOE

Open letter to my girlfriends (yes, it includes you, Mom and Lil Sis)!
This, in part, is an email I sent to a girlfriend that started me thinking about girlfriends and how important they are to me. Names are changed to protect the guilty!
Again I have to apologize on several levels!!! First, my phone was MIA and I didn’t hear it ring. Big rant: The people I live with gather up things in heaps and dump it on my desk; hence the phone was at the bottom of the heap so I didn’t hear it ring. And then I get mad at MYSELF when I can’t find something! ARGH! I was with YoungSon last night because he was sick. I don’t know if it was dinner, a bug or what. He ate very little breakfast but is eating a decent lunch. He seems like he feels better now. So I get up this morning and wonder if you were just tired and didn’t call last night or what and then went searching for the phone. Found it, listened to the message and turned on the computer to email you an apology about last night…that was at 7:30 am this morning, it is now 12:40pm. I’ve already had to stop typing three times to do something “urgent” for YoungSon. It is no wonder I lose my train of thought and can’t think of words sometimes. Have I gotten anything done during the FIVE hours since I STARTED to email you???? Of course, but it is never enough and the only thing I’ve kept doing with any consistency is laundry. ONLY because there was puke all over our quilt, sheets, pillows, etc. from last night. I sound and feel a little like an adult with ADD … one thing to the next to the next and then middle aged memory kicks in and OH YES…that email to Girlfriend! I’m trying to keep the kids busy today because the yard is SOAKED from last night. All night thunder boomers, BigBoy screaming for ear phones, YoungSon puking, Hungry Hubby grouching because of lack of sleep then snoring loudly and me staying up until 4am because of the lovely phase of menopause I’m in!!!! I’m punchy, sore from sitting/laying on the dilapidated couch all night and I don’t have chocolate in the house! ***SCREAM*** I really appreciate your understanding about life’s craziness. Hungry Hubby is working tomorrow so I’m taking that as a cue to stay here and get some overdue chores DONE instead of spending the day at BG or WC! The kids can just get cabin fever and that is the way it will be! HA! I will try you tonight and if not I’ll try until I get you!
Love you AND appreciate you!!!!! CG
Note to readers: Yes this is one big run on sentence in a run on paragraph because, baby, that is LIFE these days!
This particular girlfriend is one I talk trash with (literally on our last visit we sat and talked through the hole in a trash receptacle). We laugh alot. Her sister is a girlfriend too and believes that scaring the bejessus out of her friends is the way to health and happiness! Honestly, screaming as if in death’s grip during thrill rides promotes (she believes) health for those of us recovering from surgery. I laughed so hard I thought I’d never come up for air. I think she is right.
I’ve posted this because I know all you women understand. You understand that a man writing the same email above would say the following:
Try to call you later. No sleep last night cause the kid puked all over me and I had to get up out of bed while WailingWoman changed the sheets.
See…that’s why I appreciate and dedicate this post to my GIRLFRIENDS! Girlfriends always GOTCHABACK!
